The US 8VGC XC2 is U.S. Battery's 8-volt GC8 deep-cycle battery, built for 48V golf cart packs where six batteries replace eight 6-volt units — the classic Club Car-style configuration. It uses the exclusive XC2™ (Xtreme Capacity 2) formulation with Diamond Plate Technology®, delivers 170 amp-hours at the 20-hour rate, and is handcrafted in the USA.

- 8-volt batteries are not typically used to build 36V packs; use 6V (GC2) or 12V (GC12) for those systems

Recommended charging
Two-stage charge profile. Bulk charge at constant current of approximately 10% of the C/20 capacity up to 2.45 ± 0.05 V per cell (about 9.8 V for this 8V battery), then absorption charge at constant voltage until current falls to 3% of C/20, holding 2 to 3 hours. Optional float at 2.17 V per cell (8.68 V). Equalize at 2.55 ± 0.05 V per cell for 1 to 3 hours roughly every 30 days. Typical charge time from full discharge is 9 to 12 hours. Specific gravity at full charge is 1.270 minimum. Compensate −0.028 V per cell for every 10°F above 80°F.
Maintenance
Flooded batteries require periodic watering with distilled water after charging. Check electrolyte levels monthly in hot weather. Keep terminals clean and torqued to spec.
Freight & handling
Flooded lead-acid batteries are classified UN2794, Class 8 corrosive, and ship as regulated hazmat by LTL motor freight. Orders arrive palletized and strapped. Select liftgate/residential if you do not have a forklift or loading dock — the driver will lower the pallet to ground level. Select commercial (loading dock available) only if you can unload from a trailer height. Someone must be present to sign and inspect the freight.
